Students Getting Involved Walk to School Month

October is International Walk to School Month, designed to focus attention on the importance of safe and walkable communities, health and nutrition, climate change and air quality. Today, over 3,000 schools nationally participate in a Walk to School event during the month of October. As part of Walk to School Month, many schools will be holding events on Walk to School Day – Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008.

Please join the Network for a Healthy California–LAUSD (Network) in supporting Walk to School Month. Following you’ll find our Network Walk to School Resource Kit, which includes reproducible information that your school can use to help enhance your Walk to School activities. Please reproduce and share with teachers, parents and students as appropriate.
